Electronic mail (email) is a way of sending messages electronically from one computer to another via the internet. The messages usually consist of text, but can also include sound, pictures and music files. It is a very common way of keeping in touch via the internet — being extremely similar to, but much quicker than, writing a letter. To use email you will need the appropriate software package.
