WHAT IS AN MP3?
The most common digital
music format is the MP3,
and this is often used as the catch-all term for all music downloads. In
fact, Microsoft has a Windows-specific version called WMA (Windows
Media Audio) and Apple's own version is called AAC (Advanced Audio
Coding). But they all do the same thing - compress music into small
digital files so that they can be easily downloaded. Other types of
file include AVI,
QuickTime,
MPEG,
WAV and exe.
